Boboli Gardens (Giardino di Boboli) When the Medici family purchased the Pitti Palace in 1550, the 32 hectares (79 acres) of the hill behind the palace began to be sculpted into the Boboli Gardens. The park now holds a collection of sculptures, fountains and grottos, a breath of fresh air from Florence's crowded city centre. Address: Piazza Pitti 1 Florence FI Italy
